“Death Dance” is an original watercolor, ink, and colored pencil painting inspired by Ancient Egyptian death rituals that frequently depicted snakes. The snake was often used as a symbol for life and rebirth. The peacock headdresses also represent the theme of rebirth, due to the bird’s annual molting process. This symbolism is carried on through various cultures and mythological traditions today.
This is the original 12x12” painting that has been coated in artist’s wax, providing protection from moisture and UV light. The piece ships unframed and sealed in an archival bag.
